About this deal

I have owned and ridden motorcycles before being legally able, my dad taught me how to drive a sidecar outfit and I have watched some of the Henry Cole tv series. Drawn in monochrome pencil on rough-textured paper, the broad, full-page and full-spread rural scenes give the encounter a shadowy, atmospheric setting. They’re the place where old things get a new lease of life, and where new things – the motor, the light bulb, the telephone – are invented.

Good old Henry) this is an entertaining and engaging read with the occasional philosophical reflection. Loved every page of this well written, very readable book - a great insight into all things bike but also one man’s fascinating journey from outsider despair to finding happiness by doing what he loves. Simple and stunning images tell the story of a cat named Spot as he weaves his way in and out of a city in this wordless picture book from award-winning author-illustrator Henry Cole. The addiction and privilege I had heard about but the story of the struggle to overcome both is harrowing at times. Having seen a couple of Henry’s programmes I was mildly familiar with the presenting side but never had a clue how inspirational he really is.

That’s why, with the help of an interior designer, I created new colours for the original, classic Tidy Books bookcase.

What fascinated me was working out the expressions of the girl’s family: Did they know what the girl was doing? Since then, Henry's life can be charted through the bikes and journeys he has been on - from a stifling public-school education, via many years battling addiction, to the big-sky iconic routes Henry has ridden for over 20 series as presenter of numerous TV shows. An easy and quite inspiring read - and some lessons to be learned for us all during our short lives. Beneath the crackled and faded painting of a horse, underneath the worn and dusty floorboards of the dining room, lives Celeste, a mo. He started as a news cameraman for channels including ITV and TF1 and progressed to making rockumentaries, primarily with heavy rock bands, [4] then directing TV commercials, and finally directing films, such as the semi-autobiographical Mad Dogs and Englishmen with Elizabeth Hurley.

On television he is best known for World’s Greatest Motorcycle Rides, The Motorbike Show, Shed and Buried, and Find It, Fix It, Flog It. After pondering her discovery, she stealthily delivers food wrapped in a checkered napkin on multiple occasions. My 8 year old and I read it together, slowly and carefully, drawn in by the characters’ expressions, and talking a little about the history. He has worked on nearly one hundred and fifty books for children, including Nesting, Unspoken, Big Bug, A Nest for Celeste, Jack's Garden, and On Meadowview Street.
