With the P-125, you can’t just layer any sounds. The tones from the same sound section cannot be combined. For example, you can’t layer a piano with another piano, or an organ with another organ. Layer/”Dual” mode to layer 2 voices (can also adjust relative volume between voices and shift octaves) The Yamaha P125's abilities to be compact and lightweight allows it to be the perfect practice instrument for even the most experienced pianists.

Yamaha has used their significant history as a piano maker in providing piano sample for the P125, including the use of the legendary Yamaha CFIII 9′ concert grand, here faithfully reproduced, along with all it’s inherent nuances and dynamic expressiveness.

This is an amazing feature and tool; you can load a song from your iTunes library on your device into the app, and it will analyze the song and generate a chord chart for you. And then you can play along with the song while watching the app scroll through the chords; you can even transpose the song and the app will update the chord chart!

Because the two are outfitted with the Pure CF tone generator, the grand piano instruments on both are no less than stunning. I do have to say that I was a bit more awed by the strings on the P-255, with the individual notes blending incredibly well. Its bass section is also wonderfully made. Piano Functions and Features The keyboard is touch-sensitive, which means that the volume/timbre of the sound will change depending on how hard or soft you play the keys.Just like the majority of digital pianos in this price range, the P-125 comes with a basic box-style footswitch (FC5) that looks and feels nothing like a real piano pedal.
